Mastery Gate Convergence
Mastery Gate Convergence · Infrastructure Validation
All five gates passed
Gate convergence within 0.01 of design threshold
Description
Infrastructure validation: the 4-stream mastery gate should converge to the known design threshold of θ = 0.85. The engine triggered the gate at θ̂ = 0.847, within 0.01 of the design target.
Methodology
Simulated 200 learners across 40 items with a 4-stream mastery gate designed to fire at θ = 0.85. The four streams (accuracy, consistency, transfer, retention) each contributed to the composite threshold.

This is a synthetic recovery, not a replication of the original study. A known effect was planted into a simulated learner population and the engine attempted to recover it. Discrepancies between recovered and published values reflect differences between idealized simulation conditions and real-world field conditions, not engine error.
