Description

Infrastructure validation: evidence weight for scaffolded responses should attenuate updates. A planted attenuation weight of w = 0.42 for hint-assisted responses was recovered as w = 0.418.

Methodology

Simulated 150 learners across 30 items where a fraction of responses were hint-assisted. The engine applied scaffold-conditioned evidence weights and recovered w = 0.418, within 0.01 of the planted value.

Reference

Internal infrastructure validation. No external reference.

This is a synthetic recovery, not a replication of the original study. A known effect was planted into a simulated learner population and the engine attempted to recover it. Discrepancies between recovered and published values reflect differences between idealized simulation conditions and real-world field conditions, not engine error.
